Canada’s New Caregiver Program: A Direct Path to Permanent Residency

About the Program

In addition to providing jobs in Canada, the new Home Care Worker Immigration Pilots also provide a relatively simple route to permanent residence in Canada. Furthermore, the program would give those who qualify the chance to work in both private residences and medical facilities.

In contrast to other carer pilot programs, the new 2025 Home Care Worker Immigration Pilots will award permanent residency to qualified candidates as soon as they arrive in Canada, streamlining and speeding up the immigration application procedure. The immigration procedures for the “Home Support Worker” and “Home Child Care Provider” pilot programs were significantly longer in contrast.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the new caregiver pilot program, you must:

·       Secure a full-time job offer from a home care employer, such as an agency, healthcare institution, or a private employer seeking assistance with home care services.

·       Have recent and relevant work experience in the home care sector which will further demonstrate your ability to perform the job duties required of you.

·       Have at least Level 4 proficiency in either English or French on the Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) scale, ensuring effective communication with clients and employers.

·       Have a Canadian high school diploma or an equivalent credential from your country of residence.
