BREAKING: Home Care Worker Child Care Pilot has hit its cap
You will not be able to apply online for permanent residency through Canada’s Home Care Worker Immigration Pilot: Child Care (HCWP: CC) until the next year.
On the afternoon of March 31, 2025, the day it opened for applicants, the HCWP: CC reached its quota on online applications.
Applications submitted in other formats (such as paper, braille, and large print-based applications) are still being accepted as of this writing.
Note: Applicants must typically use the online permanent residence portal to submit their applications to Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Applications in alternate formats are designed for people who need specific accommodations to finish their applications and are unable to apply online.
150 seats were set aside for out-of-status workers out of the 2,750 applications that were allowed this year.
Next year, the federal government is anticipated to reopen the pilot to applications.
The only applicants who have opened up so far are those who are employed in Canada Stream. The government has not yet disclosed the opening date for the Applicants Not Working in Canada Stream as of this writing.
The HCWP: CC will operate for five years, like the majority of federal pilot immigration procedures.
After a successful pilot program, the federal government will occasionally create a permanent immigration pathway. One such long-term route is the Atlantic Immigration Program.
